Publication: “Analysis of the UN Youth, Peace, and Security Agenda in the Context of Serbia” now available in English

KOMS published the Analysis of the UN Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) Agenda in the Context of Serbia in 2023, providing an in-depth overview of how the agenda’s key pillars—Participation, Protection, Prevention, Partnership, and Reintegration—are reflected in Serbia’s legal and policy framework. To make the findings and recommendations more accessible to international stakeholders, KOMS has now translated the publication into English.

The analysis examines the implementation of the YPS Agenda through a desk review of the Constitution, laws, by-laws, and public policy documents such as strategies, action plans, and programs. It highlights both the progress made and the gaps that remain in ensuring young people’s meaningful participation in peacebuilding and security processes.

The research was conducted between July and September 2023, assessing public policies in place at that time. The findings emphasize the need for a more comprehensive approach involving not only the Ministry of Tourism and Youth but also other institutions and relevant actors.

By publishing this analysis, KOMS aims to support institutions in recognizing the challenges young people face in this area, while also providing civil society organizations with insights into the current state of YPS implementation in Serbia.

The publication includes concrete recommendations for strengthening the agenda’s application at the national level.
