From May 8 to 12, on behalf of KOMS President of the Governing Board, Gordana Adamov, and Programme Coordinator, Anja Jokić, paid a visit to Bled and Ljubljana, Slovenia, to join the Southern Youth Councils network (SYC) coordination meeting. Representatives of the National Youth Congress of Albania (Kongresi Rinor Kombëtar KRK), which became an associate member of the European Youth Forum (YFJ) in November 2022, were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, members of the SYC network had the opportunity to discuss ways to enhance collaboration, communication, and influence in the advocacy and youth policies in the countries represented by the member organizations of the network.
Additionally, as part of the event, the youth councils had the chance to meet with representatives of the Southern National Agencies for Erasmus+ (SNA) and discuss ways to improve joint work and impact. On this occasion, the representatives of KOMS held discussions with a representative of the Tempus Foundation and other SNA representatives regarding concrete proposals to strengthen collaboration and enhance communication between SYC and SNA, as well as exploring new forms of cooperation.
On the last day, the SYC network had the opportunity to visit Ljubljana and the Škisova Fair, which brings together youth and student organizations from all over Slovenia, providing them with a platform to showcase their work.
This meeting represents an important international activity in the field of youth policy, as the SYC network brings together youth umbrella organizations from 15 different European countries, including Serbia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, and Malta. Moreover, this network serves as a significant support system for its members, particularly in their engagement within the YFJ.
