Study visit to Slovakia

From October 9 to 13, part of the KOMS team was on a study visit to the Slovak Republic, Bratislava, as part of the “Youth Empowerment Incubator” project.

First day: Visit to representatives of EU institutions in Slovakia

As part of the first working day of the study visit, on October 10, the representatives of Koms had the opportunity to visit representatives of EU institutions in Slovakia – such as the House of Europe in Bratislava. During the visit, the participants of the study visit heard about the functioning of the European Parliament and Slovakia’s participation in its work, as well as the upcoming elections for new members of the European Parliament, which will be held in 2024.

Second day: Visit to the Parliamentary Committee of the Slovak Parliament for Education, Youth, Science and Sports

The second day of the study visit began with a visit to the Slovak Parliament, where the participants of the study visit were presented with the work of the Parliament, and especially the parliamentary Committee for Education, Youth, Science and Sports. The afternoon activity was a visit to the IP center – an organization that provides help to people who face life problems on a psychological level.

Third day: Visit to the premises of the Slovak umbrella association and recording of the podcast

At the beginning of the third day, on October 12, the participants of the study visit met with the representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic in the premises of the Slovak Umbrella Union (RMS – Rada mládeže Slovenska). They were also addressed by the President of the Management Board, who presented the work of the umbrella association, as well as active projects.

The last activity in which the participants of the study visit tried their hand was the recording of a podcast dealing with youth issues. One person from each country who is a partner in the project was delegated, and the podcast itself talked about the problems faced by young people from these countries, such as housing issues, pollution, education, labor rights, wages and the like…

The study visit to Bratislava was organized within the framework of the Erasmus + project “Youth Empowerment Incubator”, supported by the European Union.
