Representative of KOMS at the COMEM of the European Youth Forum 2022

The first Council of Members (COMEM) of the European Youth Forum (YFJ) for 2022 was held in Brussels from 13 to 14 May, attended by more than 70 live delegates, as well as 57 delegates who attended online. In this way, the delegates represented more than 80 member organizations of the European Youth Forum.

During the event, a new membership fee proposal was adopted and a message of support for Ukraine was sent through talks and urgent adoption of a resolution to support youth in Ukraine, refugees and the implementation of the “Youth, Peace and Security” agenda in Europe. Also, workshops on priority public policy topics were organized, while the working groups discussed the status review and provided support for the adoption of 3 proposals submitted by three member organizations.

KOMS delegate Anja Jokić together with colleagues from the National Youth Council of Macedonia NMSM used the opportunity to speak at the Council of Members and emphasize the importance of EU accessibility of public policies and processes to young people from the Western Balkans, and advocated for YFJ to remain and participate in the work of the Advisory Board of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office RYCO.

The visit to Brussels was also used to network the KOMS representative with colleagues from youth organizations across Europe, especially those who are part of the SYC network of Southern Youth Councils, of which KOMS is a part.

The General Assembly of the European Youth Forum will be held in November in Tirana, Albania.

Since 2016, KOMS has been a full member of the European Youth Forum, which brings together over 100 member organizations and is the largest and leading platform of youth youth organizations in Europe.

The participation of the National Youth Council of Serbia in the work of the European Youth Forum was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia.
