Representatives of the National Youth Council of Serbia participated today, November 2, in the High-level Policy Dialogue in the field of education.

This extremely important event was marked by topics related to the new strategic framework in education in Serbia and the European Union, but also by the importance and impact of EU support in education.

In the Draft Budget of the Republic of Serbia for the next year, greater recognition is given to educational policies. In addition, in the coming period, the definition and establishment of Youth Guarantees, harmonization of education and the labor market, the establishment of the Unified Education Information System and the digitalization of education will be prioritized.

What is especially important is that the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, Darija Kisić Tepavčević, announced that the priority of the Ministry will be the gradual introduction of Youth Guarantees, while the Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic announced a larger budget for youth policy. broad consultative processes for the National Youth Strategy and the Law on Youth and that an ex post and ex ante analysis of the Law on Youth will be prepared in the next month.

In order to ensure participatory implementation and monitoring of the Education Strategy until 2030, it was concluded that it is important for the Youth Council to be a place where reports on the implementation of the Strategy and suggestions of the Working Group for implementation and monitoring of the strategy, recently established by the Ministry.


In addition, the topics discussed based on the key messages of the European Commission’s Serbia Report 2021 to make progress in education reform were: evidence-based policy making and reporting, the quality of the education system, the importance of education, and equity. in education and upbringing.
