From December 21 to 25, National Youth Council of Serbia (KOMS) team members, UNICEF Serbia team members and trainer Marija Pantelić, worked with 20 members of the UNICEF Serbia Youth Committee.
Through the Training on Public Advocacy and Active Youth Participation which lasted for five days, they learned more about the concepts of youth policy and active youth participation and got acquainted with key actors in this field. They also learned more about the concept of advocacy and its actors, as well as opportunities to take an active part in it and thus represent the needs of young people at the local and national levels.
On the last day of the training, young people had the task and opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge and practice the development of campaigns or initiatives they would like to work on, and through practical work learn the steps of the advocacy campaign and offer concrete solutions.
The training organized derived from the partnership established between the National Youth Council of Serbia and UNICEF Serbia through the implementation of the project Culture of Dialogue implemented by the National Youth Council of Serbia and Youth Council of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the Joint UN Regional Programme “Dialogue for the Future: Promoting Dialogue and Social Cohesion in and Between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and the Republic of Serbia” is implemented by UNDP, UNICEF, and UNESCO, with the support of the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
